Keteke, described as “the highest grossing movie premiere so far in 2017,” featuring two of Ghana’s prolific screen talents, Adjetey Annan and Lydia Forson, had the Silverbird Cinemas at Accra Mall and Westhills Mall filled to capacity at its first showing.
The rigorous marketing strategy adopted by the producers of the movie was evident in the Silverbird Cinema being pushed to have three showing of the movie instead of the regular two showing on opening night. All five theatres of the Silverbird Cinemas were sold out.
The Marketing Manager of Silverbird Cinemas Ghana, Yaw Twum-Barimah Yeboah has confirmed the success story of the premiere–which gives the movie a good start.
Speaking to GhanaCelebrities.Com about the success of the movie, Twum-Barimah Yeboah said: “For the first time, we had the same exact reaction from our patrons from the various halls showing Keteke.
It was an applause of satisfaction and an expectation me.”
The movie received 3 showings instead of the regular 2 that was scheduled. Each hall was packed to capacity and because of the overwhelming crowd Silverbird had to stop selling tickets at a point–which angered the people who had stood there for hours waiting for a hall to be free.”
“This is the highest grossing premiere in 2017 so far at the Silverbird cinemas,” he added.

The Old Films production set in the 80s was directed by Peter Sedufia, and stars the likes of Lydia Forson, Adjetey Anang, Fred Amugi,
Joseph Otsiman, Clement Suarez, Raymond Sarfo, as well as General Natia, and homorously speaks on the theme of love, among other aspects of society.
